The cab of a large crane caught fire Friday morning at the Paducah riverfront, but no one was injured.
According to information released by the Paducah Riverport Authority, the Linden Comansa tower crane's cab caught fire about 11:15 am. The operator was able to escape without injury, but the cab sustained significant damage.
The Paducah Fire Department arrived within minutes to extinguish the blaze.
The riverport authority said they have contacted their insurance company and the company that sold the crane, with hopes that interruption to service at the port will be minimal.
