Reidland Traffic Stop Leads to DUI, Drug Arrest

REIDLAND - A traffic stop Friday morning in Reidland resulted in the arrest of a man on DUI and numerous drug charges.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department reports that at approximately 11:00 am, deputies observed 28-year-old Robert Vanzant operating a motor vehicle. 

Knowing that Vanzant had outstanding warrants for his arrest, deputies attempted to stop him. 

Vanzant then fled on foot, but was quickly captured.

Deputies allegedly located marijuana, pills, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia in Vanzant’s vehicle.

He was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail on charges of second degree fleeing or evading police on foot, no insurance, first offense DUI, possession of marijuana, first degree possession of controlled substances-methamphetamine and drug unspecified, possession of drug paraphernalia, and on McCracken County warrants for failing to appear for final sentencing.
