A deputy was injured during an overnight pursuit in McCracken County.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, deputies spotted a recently reported stolen vehicle on Oaks Road just after midnight Wednesday. Deputies made numerous attempts to stop the vehicle, but were unsuccessful.

A low-speed pursuit continued into Graves County, then onto Said Road to Old Benton Road, and then back into the city of Paducah. The vehicle was stopped in the residential area of Marlboro Way, and the suspect was arrested. His name has not been released.

Sgt. Todd Ray suffered a possible knee injury after setting spike strips in front of the Food Giant in Reidland. Police say the suspect swerved his vehicle toward Ray and he was injured trying to get out of the way.

Ray was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. Sheriff Jon Hayden said more detailed information will be released later.
