Police say a pharmacist at Walgreens became suspicious about a call she received from a man claiming to be a doctor in Houston, who called in prescriptions for Amoxicillin and Premethazine with Codeine. A woman then reportedly called asking about the drugs, saying her name was Mary Springs and mentioning the name of her doctor from Houston. When the doctor's office was called, the pharmacist learned they had no patient by that name and they had placed no calls to the pharmacy.
The pharmacist told police she learned that another Walgreens and a CVS pharmacy had also received calls from the same telephone number, mentioning the same doctor and asking for the same prescriptions, but using the patient names Tiffany Harris and Joann Jones.
Anyone with information about the man in the photo or any of these calls to pharmacies is urged to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550.
