A contractor will begin a milling and paving project on Thursday in Information Age Park, also known as Paducah Commerce Park.  The work is expected to be completed by July 1, weather-permitting.

Paducah Public Information Officer Pam Spencer says McCracken Boulevard between Old Highway 60 and U.S. Highway 62 (Blandville Road) will be milled and then paved.  This street rehabilitation project also includes some of the side streets off McCracken Boulevard including Carlisle, Fulton, Calloway, and Marshall Courts and part of Ballard Circle.

During the street resurfacing work, Spencer says crews expect to keep one lane of traffic open and maintain access to businesses.  However, for the safety of the crews, drivers are urged to find an alternate route.  Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices.  During this construction period, drivers are asked to avoid parking curbside on any of the streets scheduled for rehabilitation.

This street rehabilitation project is part of the City of Paducah’s annual street improvement plan.  Part of the funding is provided through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Municipal Aid Program (MAP).  MAP funds are collected from the State gas tax and are allocated for maintenance, reconstruction, or construction of city streets.
