A Paducah woman was arrested Monday on a burglary charge.

McCracken County sheriff's deputies responded to 4215 Oaks Road last Thursday in reference to a burglary investigation. The victim reported that someone had entered his home and removed a small fireproof safe that contained medication, several hundred dollars in currency, jewelry and other important documents.

A woman identified by witnesses as 34-year-old Tiffany Williams was seen leaving the home during this time. A short time later, deputies learned that a vehicle, driven by Williams, had run off the road in the 1700 block of Oaks Road. Witnesses told deputies Williams removed an object, suspected to be the stolen safe, from the vehicle before leaving the scene.

Williams was arrested Monday during a traffic stop in the area of 9th and Washington streets in Paducah. During an interview with police, Williams reportedly admitted to stealing the safe. She took deputies to a wooded area near Husband Road, where she had hidden it.

Williams was charged with burglary 2nd degree and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
