A Paducah woman has been arrested on an alleged child abuse charge.

According to Paducah Police, Baptist Health officials called them on Friday, August 24th, when a 7-month-old infant was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with a fractured skull and brain bleed.

The child's mother, 34-year-old Victoria P. Martin, said the infant had rolled off of the bed onto the hardwood floor, four days before.

She told police that, starting in June of 2018, the infant began falling off the bed onto the floor, and this happened approximately 10 times. Martin said she recently purchased a crib for the infant.

She was interviewed again on Thursday morning by police, and arrested on the charge of 2nd degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or younger.

Martin was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
