Paducah’s Purple Toad Winery’s winning ways continue, as owners Allen and June Dossey received word at the end of October, that their Black Peach wine took home the title of Best Fruit Wine, at the Wines of the South Competition, which included wines from 14 southeastern states. They received the medals that their wines earned just over a week ago.

This was the first competition for one of the Lone Oak vineyard’s newest wines, Allen’s Blueberry, and it came away with a gold medal of its own. In fact, all ten  Purple Toad Wines that were entered into the competition came home with medals, including Concordance Gold medals for Black Peach,  Black Currant, Lauren’s Blackberry & Paducah Peach, Black & Bruised, Killer B’s, Sangria & Steven’s Strawberry. The winery’s 2013 Merlot received the winery’s lone silver medal .

The winery is gearing up for the holiday season with their season favorite Gluhwein , a spiced red wine flavored with cinnamon other spices that is best served warm. Also, select varieties of wines have been bottled in Christmas Tree shaped bottles, while other bottles feature labels with the winery's signature frog donning a santa hat among snowflakes. you can find out more abut the winery, and its many varieties of wines by visiting www.purpletoadwinery.net
