A Paducah teenager reported as missing May 2nd was located in Pennsylvania Tuesday morning, and a Pennsylvania man has been arrested.

According to Paducah Police, detectives worked closely with the Glassport, Pennsylvania Police Department and the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department in their efforts to find 16-year-old Megan Edgin. New information led officers to search the Glassport home of 56-year-old Rory E. Shelton, Sr., where Edgin was found and taken into protective custody.

The investigation determined Shelton rented a vehicle in Pennsylvania and drove to Paducah, where he met up with Edgin and helped remove her ankle monitor. He then drove back with her to Pennsylvania.

Last Thursday, police said Edgin had been communicating with a Pennsylvania man, but the investigation at that time showed he had not come to the area, and Edgin was not with him.

Shelton was taken into custody and has been charged by Paducah Police with custodial interference, a class D felony. He is facing additional charges in Pennsylvania for his involvement in this case.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.

Police are asking for the public's help finding a missing Paducah teen.

The Paducah Police Department says 16-year-old Megan Edgin was reported missing early Thursday morning by her foster parent from their home on North Valley Road. She reportedly took a small dog and a blanket when she left.

Edgin is 5'3" tall, with blonde hair and green eyes. She weighs about 100 pounds.

Police said she had been communicating online with a man in Pennsylvania prior to her disappearance. Investigators contacted Pennsylvania authorities, who determined Thursday afternoon that the man has not come to the area, and Edgin is not with him.

Anyone with information about Edgin’s whereabouts is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550.
