The Paducah Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host a drug takeback Saturday to help local residents dispose of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.

Folks can bring pills for disposal to Kentucky Oaks Mall, 5101 Hinkleville Road, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm Saturday. Police will only accept pills or patches, no liquids or sharp items will be accepted. The service is free and anonymous.

Last September, Americans turned in more than 702,000 pounds of prescription drugs at more than 5,000 drug takeback sites.
