According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop just before 2 am on a car on Clark’s River Road for traffic violations. Deputies said they suspected that the driver, 42-year-old Derrick R. Blasdel, and his passenger, 47-year-old Kathy S. Hooper, were in possession of illicit drugs.
A search of Hooper’s purse was conducted, where deputies found suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and hydrocodone pills. A search of the vehicle was then conducted, and deputies found more suspected methamphetamine, along with assorted items of drug paraphernalia.
Blasdel and Hooper where both arrested, and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
Blasdel is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with license to be in possession, improper display of registration plates and failure to signal.
Hooper is charged with possession of meth, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
