A Paducah couple were arrested last week on marijuana charges.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says detectives began an investigation on Aug. 16 after getting a tip about alleged marijuana trafficking. Detectives said they later recovered about two pounds of marijuana packaged for sale at a home in McCracken County. The investigation reportedly revealed that the source of the marijuana was 35-year-old Juntagus "Tae" Edwards. Edwards and his girlfriend, 31-year-old Meagan Carter, were located on the parking lot of a business on Lone Oak Road that same day. During a search of their vehicle detectives seized an additional five pounds of marijuana.

Detectives later executed a search warrant at a home on Jackson Street and seized additional marijuana packaged for sale, scales and packaging that had been removed from large bundles of marijuana.

Both Edwards and Carter were arrested and booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail. Edwards is charged with trafficking in marijuana over five pounds, 2nd offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. Carter is charged with complicity to trafficking in marijuana over 5 pounds, 2nd offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
