According to the official 2020 census website, across the country 60.5 percent of households have participated in the census, nearly 89 million responses.
As of Tuesday, the response rate for Kentucky is 64.1 percent, making Kentucky the 13th most responsive state in the country.
For McCracken County, the response rate is 68.3 percent, bringing the county to 24th out of the 120 counties in the Commonwealth.
Paducah's response rate comes in at 64.8 percent. According to Paducah Public Information Officer Pam Spencer, there are some census tracts within Paducah with a response rate below 50 percent. Filling out the census is important for local communities, as an accurate census count is important for ensuring the city gets the appropriate funding and resources it needs.
