Paducah Man Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges

A Paducah man was arrested on drug trafficking charges after detectives said they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle.

According to the Paducah Police Department, detectives noticed the smell coming from an SUV at a gas station on Lone Oak Road. Detectives conducted a traffic stop when the vehicle left the gas station.

The driver of the vehicle allegedly gave a bag of marijuana to detectives. Detectives searched a passenger in the vehicle, 32-year-old Jarrett Riley of Paducah. They reportedly found a bag of marijuana and a substantial amount of cash in his pocket, as well as a 9mm handgun inside his underwear.

A computer check revealed that Riley is a convicted felon. He was arrested on charges of trafficking in marijuana and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was booked into the McCracken County Jail.
