Paducah Man Arrested on Drug, Other Charges

PADUCAH - A Paducah man is facing drug and other charges after a traffic stop in Reidland.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, on Thursday November 7 the McCracken County Drug Division performed a traffic stop on a vehicle after deputies say they noticed numerous traffic violations. Drug Detectives say the driver, 48-year-old Shawn Douthitt was showing signs of being drug intoxication. After speaking with Douthitt, detectives say they noticed him attempting to retrieve something from his pants and conceal it.

After searching Douthitt, it was determined that it was a pipe. Detectives say they also found numerous bags of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Douthitt is being charged with trafficking of a controlled substance second degree second offense, DUI first degree, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, and three counts of using improper signals.

Douthitt was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
