A Paducah man was arrested Tuesday morning on assault and drug charges.

The Paducah Police Department says officers were patrolling in the 3000 block of Trimble Street shortly after 2 a.m. due to recent car break-ins in the area. They reportedly saw 32-year-old Gregory Hamilton crouching down and hiding next to a vehicle. Officers learned Hamilton had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Officer said Hamilton told them he had marijuana on him, and they found about two ounces of it in his clothing.

Hamilton was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail on charges of fourth-degree assault and possession of marijuana.
