A Paducah man faces charges of selling synthetic marijuana, after police searched his home and said they found thousands of bags of the substance.

On Friday, detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department said they got word that a Paducah man was selling Synthetic Marijuana. Detectives said they learned Feras Marji was selling the substance from his Dixie Avenue home, as well as other locations in western Kentucky and southern Illinois. They executed a search warrant Saturday morning at Marji’s home.

During the search, police said they found 2700 bags of synthetic marijuana. They also seized $3000.00 they believed to be proceeds from sales of the drug, which they said Marji was selling at an average of $50 per bag. Detectives also seized Marji's bank account.

Marji was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with trafficking synthetic drugs 1st offense. He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Police said they confiscated synthetic pot from Marji back in 2011 before it had been made illegal, and that he agreed not to sell the substance anymore.
