A Paducah man is facing charges after allegedly hitting another man with his vehicle on Friday.

A witness told officers that a man walked up to a truck at the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and Water Street, and was cursing at the driver. The man in the truck then reportedly hit the other man with his vehicle and drove away. Police found the victim lying in the street with numerous injuries. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, then transferred to an out-of-state hospital.

Officers were able to track down surveillance footage that reportedly shows the vehicle leaving the area. Detectives say they were able to identify the driver as 52-year-old David Clark Cummins, and a warrant was then issued for his arrest.

On Monday, Cummins was located at his home and taken to the McCracken County Jail. He is being charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident.
