Nearly two dozen leaders from local area organizations enjoyed a delicious Christmas Dinner during the presentation of donations.
The South Paducah Kiwanis Club also recognized their 2019 Citizen of the Year before the check presentations. Bessie Newbern of Youth Reach Victory was this year's recipient for her continued dedication and work with area youth.
The money that was distributed Thursday night during the dinner was raised throughout the year through various fundraisers such as The McCracken County Fair, BBQ on the River, and various funnel cake sales opportunities.
The South Paducah Kiwanis Club, with a contribution from the Downtown Kiwanis Club, will also distribute over $8,000 in shoes to area pre-school students before Christmas. Santa and his elves will deliver hundreds of pairs of new shoes to each of the local schools and present them at parties for students in need.
