The youth of Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club will sell hand-painted Christmas ornaments and offer lemonade samples at the Holiday Lemonade Academy today and Tuesday from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The Holiday Lemonade Academy will be held at the club’s location on 2956 Park Avenue in Paducah, and the community is invited to stop by and shop. Please bring cash for your purchases.

Holiday Lemonade Academy was brought to the youth at Oscar Cross in partnership with Sprocket, Inc., McCracken County Public Library, RISE West Kentucky, and Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce. Modeled after this past summer’s highly successful Lemonade Academy, Oscar Cross youth have attended a series of entrepreneurial workshops over several weeks.

Topics covered included business fundamentals, marketing and branding, food safety, and ornament painting. Workshops were led by community business leaders such as Jonas Neihoff of Socially Present, Meagan Musselman of the Coke Plant/Mellow Mushroom, Kathryn Byers of the City of Paducah, and Kijsa Housman of Make Paducah.

“The Holiday Lemonade Academy provides important programming that exposes entrepreneurship principles to our youth,” said Oscar Cross Executive Director Neal Clark. “I am very appreciative of the business partners in our community that assisted with bringing this program into fruition.”

All funds raised through the Holiday Lemonade Academy will support Oscar Cross programs. Some of the one-of-a kind ornaments were already sold at last week’s Giving Tuesday Kentucky Proud Dinner.
