Oscar Cross Boys & Girls Club of Paducah open house has been rescheduled for this Tuesday. Snowy weather prompted the board to delay the open house to March 3rd from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm at the club’s 2956 Park Ave. location.

The community will have the opportunity to meet the Club's new Executive Director, Don Dorris, during the open house. According to its board, "Don Dorris is an experienced leader with strong skills in strategic planning, resource management, community development, marketing and public relations."

“I look forward to working with Club supporters and others in our community to help carry on one of Paducah’s most valuable resources.  The Club is a place and an organization that works in conjunction with schools and other community related groups to help our children and our teens in every way possible to be successful,” Dorris said.

Prior to joining the OCBGC Dorris served as Executive Director of the Graves Growth Alliance in Mayfield, Kentucky, the local economic development organization for the City of Mayfield and Graves County, Kentucky.

Dorris added, “Like the children and teens we work with who learn, play, study, grow and develop through programs at the OCBGC; we have both opportunities and challenges ahead, and I look forward to hearing and gaining insights and input from Club supporters.”

A Paducah native, Dorris carries excellent relationships throughout western Kentucky.  He excels in community development and growing relationships at the chamber, government, and business levels.

Dorris holds a BA from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a MIM/MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird in Glendale, Arizona.

“Don is more than capable of strengthening the Club’s current relationships and building new ones in the community,” Todd Faulkner, OCBGC Board President, said.

Faulkner added, “The Board of Directors is excited to officially introduce Don to the community during the Club’s Open House in March. We also see this as an opportunity to gauge community support for the Club and discuss the Club’s financial future.”

The organization's mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need the Club the most, to be all that they can be as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
