Narcan Giveaway Friday at McCracken Public Library

A Paducah mental health organization will host a free Narcan giveaway and training session on Friday at the McCracken Public Library.

Naloxone, sold under the brand name Narcan, is a medication used to block the effects of opioids.

Kentucky has had one of the highest opioid overdose rates in the nation. As part of an effort to eliminate overdose deaths, the drug giveaway and training for attendees will be held from 2:30 til 5:30 pm. 

Four Rivers Behavioral Health is partnering for the event with KentuckyCare, Purchase Area Health Connections, the McCracken County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy and the McCracken County Coroner.
