James Vanvactor, charged with murder after an incident early Sunday morning, and Henry Glore, who is charged in a rape case from 40 years ago, were both in court on Tuesday.

According to the Court Clerk, a not guilty plea was entered on behalf of Vanvactor, and he has a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 15 at 1 pm

Vanvactor was arrested after someone reported a body in the parking lot of the convention and expo center. Police said his girlfriend, 48-year-old Angella Hale of Calvert City, was dead when they arrived, and surveillance video allegedly showed that Vanvactor backed over her in an RV. He was reportedly still sitting in it when police arrived.

Glore had a preliminary hearing Tuesday where he refused a public defender and said he will hire a private attorney. The court clerk said another court appearance was not yet on the docket.

On October 2, Glore was arraigned on felony charges of 3rd degree rape and incest, after DNA tests taken last December allegedly showed he was the father of his younger sister's now-grown child. She told police Glore raped her in 1977, when he was thirty years old and she was fifteen.
