A South Carolina man injured in a collision last week in Paducah has died.

According to the Paducah Police Department, 36-year-old Orlando C. Watkis of Newberry, South Carolina died at 5:46 pm Monday at Baptist Health Paducah.

Watkis was injured in a collision Thursday morning at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Police say the motorcycle collided with a car driven by 19-year-old Ethan R. Hines of Kevil, who reportedly ran a stop sign.

Hines told police he didn't realize there was a stop sign at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive as he drove along Fountain Avenue. His car was hit in the driver’s door by the motorcycle ridden by Watkis.
