A man was arrested Wednesday morning after police say he was spotted searching through a vehicle.

According to the Paducah Police Department, someone called about 4:45 am to report a suspicious person going through vehicles near the W.B. Sanders Retirement Center on Washington Street. When the officer got to the scene, he saw a man looking in the back of a vehicle with the rear hatch raised. The man reportedly fled on foot when he saw police.

The man, identified as 44-year-old Rondell Williams of Detroit, was caught and arrested. He was charged with fleeing police and booked into McCracken County Jail. Police say the investigation is continuing.
