Metropolis Woman Arrested for Check Forgery

A Metropolis woman was arrested Wednesday, after police say she deposited forged checks and withdrew money.

According to Paducah Police, between Jan 6 and Jan 11, 34-year-old Melanie Eaves deposited forged checks and withdrew money from the account before funds were verified. Police said Eaves received almost $4,000 in cash from the scheme.

Eaves was booked into the McCracken County Jail on a charge of theft by deception.
