Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center will soon open its brand new campus to the public.

The center says in a press release that it will host its Grand Opening Celebration to showcase its new 13 acre campus, and to thank donors and community partners who helped make the project possible.

The organization recently relocated its operations to the new campus in December. Since that time, the center has been providing both residential and non-residential services, dining services and events at the new location. The newly renovated emergency shelter can occupy up to 36 beds for clients and their children, a 50% increase from their current shelter space.

The event, which will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon, will feature a ribbon-cutting with the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce, recognition of dignitaries/special guests, honoring of donors and partners, and a tribute to survivors. Also performing at the event will be Tyra Lokey Robinson, a well-known performer and trauma survivor.

Merryman House and Mountain Comprehensive Care Center bought the property on Berger Road, which was the former McCracken County School Board location. The site will become the campus where both nonprofits will work together to provide domestic and substance abuse intervention services.
