Mercy Health Lourdes has resumed some elective procedures and surgeries.

In a press release, the hospital says all state and federal guidelines are being followed. To ensure patient safety and well-being, all associates and health care providers involved in invasive procedures have been tested.

Additional safety precautions at Mercy Health Lourdes include:

• Fewer entry points to facilities.

• All patients are being asked about symptoms and history and having their temperatures checked as part of the screening process.

• All patients will be wearing masks from the time they enter the facility until they leave.

• Visitor restrictions are in place and can be found at mercy.com. In general, visitors are asked not to come to the hospital or affiliated facilities.

• All hospital associates are following PPE guidelines, including wearing masks in all settings and wearing additional PPE when in appropriate departments.

Patients who have had procedures postponed are being called to reschedule. Depending on the type of procedure, patients may be required to be tested for COVID-19 prior to the appointment. Any patients tested for COVID-19 prior to surgery must be negative to continue with surgery unless otherwise it is considered an emergency. If a patient tests positive prior to surgery/procedure, the surgery/procedure will be postponed.
