Medical Incident Leads to Accident, Fatality

A two-vehicle accident in Reidland Monday afternoon claimed the life of a Princeton woman.

McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the intersection of Reidland Road and US 60 at the entrance to the Ledbetter bridge at 2:30 pm. They found 68-year-old Martha Goodwin unresponsive in her vehicle. She was taken to Baptist Health where she later passed away.

Deputies said it appears that prior to the accident, Goodwin had a medical incident which caused her to rear-end a vehicle driven by 67-year-old Sondra Johnson of Paducah.

Johnson was treated and released from Lourdes Hospital.

Westbound lanes of Reidland Road were reduced to one lane for nearly two hours during the accident investigation.
