A McCracken County couple is facing charges after allegedly selling drugs near a school.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, earlier this month officers had received a tip alleging that drug trafficking was taking place at a home on Otis Dinning Drive in Paducah.

On Friday detectives searched the home of 26-year-old Exzavier Copeland, and 23-year-old A'Liyah Moore.

Detectives allegedly seized oxycontin, xanax, hydrocodone, marijuana, $1,377 in cash believed to have been proceeds from drug sales, and drug paraphernalia. They also found a loaded handgun.

Detectives believe some of the pills could be laced with fentanyl, and have been sent to a Kentucky State Police Crime Lab for testing.

Copeland and Moore were arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Copeland is being charged with firearm enhanced trafficking first degree controlled substance second offense oxycontin, trafficking in the third degree of a controlled substance second offense xanax, possession of marijuana, possession of hydrocodone, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Moore is being charged with firearm enhanced trafficking in the first degree of a controlled substance first offense oxycontin, trafficking in a third degree controlled substance first offense xanax, possession of marijuana, possession of hydrocodone, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
