Voters have decided that a McCracken County precinct will remain dry.

In the Hendron 3 precinct wet/dry special election held on Tuesday, 60 people voted no and 23 voted yes on the measure that would have allowed alcohol sales.

Doran's Deli owner Nicole Doran spearheaded the effort to put the measure to a vote, and collected 120 signatures to accomplish that. She said the fact that she is unable to sell alcohol is putting her out of business.

Back in September, voters in the Williams Precinct approved alcohol sales by a margin of 8 votes. 26 voting in favor, and 18 voting to remain dry. The owner of Blooms 'N Gardens gathered the necessary 51 signatures required for that precinct to get the measure on the ballot.

There are about 530 registered voters in the Hendron 3 Precinct.
