A Calvert City man has died following injuries he sustained in a collision on the downtown loop in Paducah Friday afternoon.

Police report that 73-year-old Manuel Jones of  Paducah told officers that, at 1pm, he was driving north on 3rd Street, and while attempting to turn left onto Norton Street, saw a motorcycle approaching. Jones said he felt he had time to complete the turn, but the motorcycle driven by 52-year-old Christopher W. Bailey of Calvert City, hit the corner of Jones' car.

Both Jones and Bailey were taken to Baptist Health for treatment, but Bailey later died.

Third Street was partially blocked for more than an hour following the collision.

The Paducah Police Department's accident reconstruction team is investigating.
