A Paducah man was struck by a car Tuesday morning after his vehicle ran out of gas.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened at 7 am on North Friendship Road near the intersection with Holt Road. Deputies say 67-year-old Glenn Loe was getting a gas can from his trunk after his vehicle ran out of fuel. He was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Mason Buckingham.
Loe was temporarily pinned between the two vehicles, but was able to free himself. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Deputies said weather, poor lighting conditions and slick roads contributed to the accident.
