A McCracken County man wanted in connection with a car theft earlier this week has been arrested. According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, 19-year-old Jacob Stringer of West Paducah was arrested Thursday night.

Police said Stringer was a suspect in the Monday theft of a 1998 Ford Explorer from a home on Blandville Road. The stolen vehicle was recovered the next day after being abandoned in the Wildlife Management area near the McCracken - Ballard County Line.

The Sheriff's Department says Stringer was also being sought in an unrelated vehicle theft that happened around September 4. They say a Chevrolet 1-ton truck was taken from where it was parked on Old Mayfield Road in the Hendron area, and was found after it was abandoned near a business on Paducah's south side.

Stringer was booked in the McCracken County Jail.
