A man died and was involved in a crash in Paducah, but police believe the crash did not cause his death.

On Monday, first responders reported to Reidland Road about 11:30 am that a car driven by 64-year-old Roger Smith of Paducah left the road and hit a sign, a fence, a truck and a house.

When officials arrived, Smith was reportedly unresponsive, and CPR was started. Witnesses say Smith suddenly slumped over in the car and it drove off the road. The McCracken County Coroner said it appears Smith died as a result of a medical condition, not from any injuries received in the crash.

The investigation is still ongoing.
