A Reidland man was arrested on drug trafficking charges after detectives allegedly found 56 grams of cocaine hidden in a vacuum cleaner.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office reports that it received complaints of alleged drug trafficking at a home on Kentucky Dam Road in the Reidland area.  An investigation revealed that 49-year-old John D. Suggs, who had outstanding warrants in McCracken County, was living at the home.

On Thursday, Suggs was pulled over for traffic violations, and deputies allegedly found cocaine, marijuana, and a digital scale inside the vehicle.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Sugg's home, where they reportedly seized 56 grams of cocaine hidden inside a vacuum cleaner, marijuana, a deputy sheriff badge, and a loaded handgun which had been reported stolen in 2017.

Suggs was charged with trafficking in cocaine second offense (firearm enhanced), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, providing false identifying information, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and traffic violations.

He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
