A Lone Oak man has been charged with theft and drug offenses, after police executed a search warrant at his home.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 61-year-old Jeffrey Gold Thursday after seizing stolen property and items of drug paraphernalia from his home.

On Thursday McCracken County Sheriff's Detectives were contacted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department in Key West, Florida about a parcel that was intercepted by police and found to contain more than 8 ounces of marijuana. Police said their investigation revealed that Gold was the one that mailed the package. Detectives also learned that Gold was out on bond for a felony theft.

During a search of Gold's home, detectives reportedly found marijuana cultivation items, evidence of marijuana trafficking, and about $10,000 worth of merchandise that they say was stolen from an area business.

Police said they later learned Gold had been stealing from a Paducah business at least once a month for the past two years, and that he had made more than $10,000 from the resale of the stolen merchandise. Detectives said they also learned that Gold had been delivering his homegrown marijuana through the mail for several years.

Gold is charged with theft over $10,000, trafficking marijuana over 8 ounces, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
