Local Fugitive Arrested After Short Pursuit

A man wanted on a warrant was arrested after a short pursuit Wednesday night.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, a deputy was dispatched to a report of a reckless driver on Old Mayfield Road. At approximately 9:00 PM a deputy saw the vehicle near Bleich Rd traveling north. An attempt was made to stop the vehicle but the driver fled a short distance before stopping in a ditch on Old Mayfield Rd near Elmdale Rd.  The driver then fled on foot for a short distance before being apprehended by the deputy.

The driver, 33-year old John L. Fyffe had an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to report to Kentucky Probation and Parole.

Fyffe was charged with a warrant from probation and parole, Fleeing or evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle), Fleeing or evading police 2nd degree (on foot), 
Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine), Possession of drug paraphernalia, Driving on a suspecnded operator's license, Reckless driving, and Criminal mischief.
