A group of aspiring young quilters is wrapping up a week of camp at the National Quilt Museum.
The Paducah Sun reports kids as young as 8 designed and made their own 4-by-4-foot quilts over the week.
Before they started sewing, the campers toured the museum's collection of beautiful quilts.
Museum educational coordinator Becky Glasby says it is fun to see the kids make a connection with the big quilts and realize that every quilter with a piece in the museum had to learn the same things they are learning at camp.
Glasby says she is most proud of her campers' eagerness to give their quilts to family members, teachers or friends.
She says giving someone a quilt is kind of like giving a hug.
