A spaghetti dinner fundraiser Thursday evening at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Paducah fed over 325 guests. Many that attended were from out of town, in Paducah for the Quilt Show.

The dinner, sponsored by the St. Paul Men's Club, helped to raise funds for church member and McCracken County High School senior, Tyson Asher, who needs a kidney transplant. The cost of the operation exceeds what Tyson's insurance will pay.

Tyson will have the kidney transplant on October 9th at Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville. His mother, Jenny Asher, will donate the kidney. The theme for Tyson during this time is "Tyson Tough".

Tyson commented on the large crowd. "It's really amazing seeing all the support and the number of people that came out. It's truly a blessing." He added, "thank you, that's all I've got to say, just thank you. It means a lot."

Tyson's mother, Jenny Asher, a nurse with Baptist Health in Paducah, also commented. "It's very humbling to see all of this and see the support, and the love that friends, and friends of friends, and people that we've never met before, too the time come out and have a good dinner, and support us. It's been wonderful."

She also wanted to thank everyone for the love, support, and prayers. She said that the prayers are what is getting them through this, and asked that everyone keep them in your thoughts and prayers over the next few months.
