Voters in McCracken County will elect a new Jailer in November.

Democrat Dan Sims will face Republican David Knight in the race for McCracken County Jailer in the General Election, and Tonya Ray will not appear on the ballot. Sims got 3,401 votes in Tuesday's Democratic Primary election. Challenger Paula Riley came in second place, with 831 votes. Ray came in a distant third place, with 406 votes.

In the Republican Primary, David Knight came out on top with 1,916 votes. Coming in second place was Greg Garrison, with 787 votes. Bobby Dennis came in third, with 364 votes.

Incumbent Property Valuation Administrator Nancy Bock, with 2,728 votes, beat challenger Debbie Hanna, who received 1,975 votes in the Democratic primary.

There were four County Commissioner races on Tuesday's Ballot. Jeff Parker beat Richard Box in the Republican 2nd District race, with 1,874 votes to Box's 1,272. In the 3rd District Republican race, Eddie Jones, with 1,690 votes beat opponent Scott Wathen, who had 1,448. On the Democrat side, Mark Scott took home a victory in the 1st District race with 2,669 votes. Charles Offutt came in 2nd, with 1,700 votes. In the 2nd District, Republican Jerry Beyer got 3,060 votes, beating challenger Paul Carter, who got 1,641 votes.

There were three State Representative races. Democrat Linda Story Edwards beat Al Cunningham in the 6th District race 67-66, a margin of just one vote. Drew Williams came in 3rd place, with 47 votes. On the Republican side, Chris Freeland bested Randall Fox 126-61 in the 6th Representative District. In the 3rd Representative District, Republican Randy Bridges beat Joni Hogancamp 1,101-729.

On the national level, Paul Walker beat opponent Alonzo Pennington in the race for the U.S. Representative 1st Congressional District seat. Walker got 3,414 votes. Pennington received 939.

McCracken County voters will head back to the polls Nov. 6 for the general election.
