Retired Circuit Court Judge and McCracken County Judge Executive-Elect Craig Clymer was honored Monday afternoon with his portrait unveiling at the McCracken County Courthouse.

Speaking at the ceremony were McCracken County Bar Association President, Adam Futrell, the children of Judge Clymer, Aimee Clymer Hancock and Sam Clymer, and special guest, Kentucky Supreme Court Justice, Bill Cunningham.

The portrait, which will hang in Courtroom A at the McCracken County Court House, was unveiled by Judge Clymer's grandchildren, Blain Douglas Oliver, Kathleen Boldrick Hancock, and William Craig Clymer Hancock, with assistance from his children, Aimee Clymer Hancock and Sam Clymer.

Judge Clymer told West Kentucky Star that "the fact that this portrait is going to be hung in this courtroom where I devoted so much of my life, 17 years in this courtroom, and before that, six years in District Court, is just an incredible honor."

He also commented on his upcoming position as McCracken County Judge Executive. "It will be an extremely different position, in that as a law judge, I was prohibited from talking to the public, and in the Executive branch, I will be more accessible to the people, and they will be expecting to be able to talk about what's of interest to them, and I'll need to be addressing that."

Judge Clymer also added that he is interested in helping the county with economic development in his new position.
