By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - A McCracken County Jail inmate, who walked away from a work detail near Cardinal Point in Paducah Friday afternoon, was caught Friday night at the corner of Alexander and Hawaii Streets in Paducah.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says Jason A. Chancellor walked away from the work detail around 2:30 pm. Deputies with the help of a K-9 unit spotted Chancellor just before 7 pm. He tried to outrun the K-9 but couldn’t.

Chancellor was taken to Lourdes Hospital with minor injures due to dog bite and was then lodged back in the McCracken County Jail, according to WPSD-TV.

Investigators believe someone may have helped Chancellor get out of his jumpsuit and put on street clothes.
