According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the wreck happened at approximately 7:45 pm near the 8000 block of Old Mayfield Road. Deputies said 42-year-old Anthony W. Chester of Boaz was southbound on Old Mayfield Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and his vehicle dropped off the shoulder of the road.
Police said Chester's vehicle continued off the roadway and struck a large tree. Deputies determined that Chester was under the influence of alcohol.
Chester was transported to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Due to his injuries, he was cited for operating a motor vehicle under the influence with aggravating circumstances and released.
