Heath Middle School has been awarded a $10,000 grant to fund a greenhouse project at the school.

According to a press release, America's Farmers Grow Rural Education $10,000 grant will go toward a tunnel greenhouse and outdoor garden/classroom for students to grow and harvest their own food in an environmentally responsible, sustainable way. The produce grown in the greenhouse will be served in the school's cafeteria.

Schools from across the country were nominated and selected by farmers to receive STEM grants through Grow Rural Education. Grow Rural Education has more than $18 million in grants to over 1,000 rural public school districts since 2011.
