The award honors children and youth with disabilities from across the commonwealth who excel. Students may be nominated in the categories of academics, arts, community and school activities, self-advocacy, technology, and transition. Jordan was nominated by her teacher, Kayla Griggs.
Award winners in each category will be given special recognition at the KYCEC "Yes I Can!" awards program during the Kentucky Exceptional Children’s Conference, which will be held in Louisville on November 19-21. Kentucky winners will then be nominated for the national "Yes I Can!" awards.
