The hour-long presentation, which is free and open the public, will be held October 21 beginning at 11 a.m. in WKCTC's Crounse Hall, Room 101.
In a time of deep political division, Holland, a native of Paducah, and Beth Silvers of Union, Ky., will discuss the importance of connection and respect in building and sustaining relationships with family, friends and acquaintances. They will share the story of how they started as friends and later colleagues based on their mutual passion and dedication for politics.
The duo provides insights and practical tools they've learned about choosing kindness and patience in political conversations and encourages readers and listeners to put relationship before policy and understanding before argument.
Before Holland and Silvers joined forces, Holland worked on Capitol Hill prior to moving back to her hometown where she served on the Paducah City Commission from 2017-2018. Silvers got her start as an attorney and human resources executive at a prestigious law firm. She now runs a life and business coaching practice.
They have shared about their book and its message twice this year on MSNBC's morning news and talk show, "Morning Joe," which features in-depth and informed discussions that help drive the day's current political conversation. They have also made recent appearances in California, Michigan, Colorado and Kentucky, and they have upcoming shows in Washington, D.C. and Texas.
The two have received much praise for their collaborative work, including Jen Hatmaker, New York Times bestselling author, speaker, and founder of Legacy Collective, who said, "Sarah and Beth are an absolute gift to our culture right now.
