A gas leak on Lone Oak Road in Paducah caused traffic issues for most of Tuesday.

The Paducah Police Department reported the leak about 10:30 am, saying two area businesses had been evacuated.

Kay Coomes from Atmos Energy told WestKentuckyStar a section of Lone Oak Road was restricted between Berger Road and Jackson Street, and encouraged drivers to avoid the area.

The leak was reportedly caused by a cut gas line near Fernwood Apartments.

Traffic was congested in the area through the afternoon. A tree trimming crew on Alben Barkley Drive restricted traffic as well, contributing to the problem.

The leak was repaired and all lanes of Lone Oak Road re-opened around 5 pm.
