A Freemont man has been arrested on assault charges after an altercation with a knife on Michael Drive Thursday evening.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a disturbance on Michael Drive and found 37-year-old Herbert Brown of Paducah on top of one of the victims, about to cut him again.

Officers ordered Brown to drop the knife and he was arrested without further incident.

When questioned by detectives, Brown confessed to attacking the two victims, 55-year-old Jim Capps and 50-year-old Randall Geantt, both of Paducah.

Capps and Geantt were taken to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment of minor cuts, and none of their injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Brown was charged with assault and booked into the McCracken County Jail.
