An investigation into the death of a McCracken County woman has turned into a suspected homicide case.

McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden said deputies got a 911 call shortly before noon Monday from a relative who found 75-year-old Fredricka Harpole unresponsive at her home in the 500 block of Lovelaceville-Florence Station Road East. Harpole was reportedly dead when responders arrived at the scene.

Hayden said foul play is suspected in Harpole's death, but the exact cause of her death is not being released. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning in Madisonville.

Harpole reportedly moved to McCracken County about 15 months ago from Michigan, and lived at the home with two nephews. Investigators have not released the names of any suspects in the case.

Hayden asks anyone with information about this crime, including anything suspicious that may have been seen at or near the home between the hours of 8:00 am and around noon are being asked to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department at 270-444-4719 or Crimestoppers at 270-443-TELL.
